Welcome to TovaTok!
Our Mission
I believe we can make a difference by using a popular platform to expose and educate younger users to the horrors of the Holocaust, combatting antisemitism online and encouraging others to speak out against it.
About Me
My name is Aron and I attend Washington University in St. Louis. I love videography, including camera operating and footage editing. I was scrolling through TikTok and realized how little people actually know about Jews and how much anti-semitism one video got One thing I knew, is that hatred is often fueled by ignorance. I looked at my high school's curriculum regarding the Holocaust in World History to see what schools in my area are doing combat this pressing issue and was surprised to see so little effort was put into educating students in that regard -- it was a side-topic, mentioned only once or twice! As a 3G (3rd Generation Holocaust survivor), I understand the importance of Holocaust Education, and was upset to see so little being done in my school. I started the TikTok as a means to help educate the younger generations, who primarily get their news from social media. We have received an overwhelmingly positive support, and we hope continue to operate the account for as long as possible. The account serve as a legacy to Tova enabling people from all over the world to witness the story of a survivor first hand, before it is too late.
Our Work
With over half a million followers on TikTok, and 7500 on Instagram, TovaTok reaches young people from all around the world, providing them with an introduction to the Holocaust and direct access to a Survivor. We work with organizations and schools globally to help bring Holocaust Education to areas without the tools or resources to do so.
